The Wahiawa Santa Parade on Dec. 6 traveled from Kaʻala Elementary School, up California Avenue and ended on North Cane Street.

Across Oahu, families celebrated the Easter holiday while enjoying the beautiful weather. Some went to prayer services, while others opted to find the Easter bunny or do an Easter egg hunt. In Wahiawa, families gathered to do an Easter egg hunt hosted by the Wahiawa Community and Business Association.

The Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (CRB) knows few limits in Hawaii - including, potentially, renowned landmarks. Micah Benavitz, President of the Wahiawa Community Business Association lives right near historic Royal Palm Drive - he says the Wahiawa neighborhood is feeling the effects of a growing problem.

Since its creation in 1935, the Wahiawa Community & Business Association has played a major role in the area by helping and supporting local businesses, while also disseminating vital information on developments in and around Wahiawa.

Business owners in Wahiawa are banding together after a string of burglaries and incidents of vandalism. Community members, Honolulu police, and security professionals all attended a town hall Thursday evening.

Wahiawa has struggled since the collapse of the pineapple industry. But new projects, some supported by political leaders, are giving city leaders new hope.

Over 40 floats and walking units will be taking part in this year’s Wahiawa Community and Business Association’s Santa Claus Parade.
